Oz silver lunar set

I bought one of these australian silver lunar sets that the Lonestar gal is selling. Fantastic looking coins, having one I cant resist paying a small premium to have the set! A few left today.

Quote:

Australian Silver Lunar Sets, 9 Coins to Date for $155.99!
Presentation Boxes for $14.99!
<TABLE cellPadding=5 align=center>
<TBODY><TR><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>
These beautiful 1 ounce Australian coins feature the animals of the Chinese Lunar calendar. The series began in 1999, and will be completed in 2010 with the Year of the Tiger. They have a stunning proof-like finish, and have a profile of Elizabeth II on the reverse. These coins have exploded in popularity since we started offering them in 2004. We expect demand to surge as the set nears completion, as has occurred with the Gold Lunar Set.
Some dealers are charging up to $30 for the early years, so save time and money by buying the whole set. All 9 coins are only $155.99! They make a great gift for yourself or someone special. If you've already purchased the first eight coins, you can buy the 2007 Pig by itself for only $17.99.
We only have 19 sets left at this price, so don't wait too long!
Just call us at 214-632-8869 or email us at jennifer@discountsilverclub.com to order!

I have bought sets of these coins, both for myself, and a number of coin-collecting friends, and a few for friends as gifts, - in 1 oz, 2 oz and 10 oz sizes..........Jennifer is the best - both as a silver source and seller (no one works harder for you) and for her prices.

I couldn't agree with you more!!!

Master Ho,

I initially purchased both their "silver sampler" and the "coins around the world" deals, which are both very well priced combinations, and I most appreciated the "year of the dog" Oz coin and the Chinese Panda. I think it's the shiny finish contrasting with the frosty that makes them both so visually attractive.

I'm eagerly anticipating receiving this set.

And I would love to know what you think when they arrive........I have mainly purchased Lunars from Jennifer, who bent over backwards to find me a couple of 10 oz, and that took months cause they are so hard to find........but they arrived yesterday and man, what GORGEOUS coins! (If you can call something thats really a round bar a coin.)

FLGal (thankyou) turned me on to the 2 oz and the difference is truly amazing - you can see the artwork so much better in the 2 oz sets, tho the 1 oz set is nice too - I have both.

There's other people and places I work thru for other things - but for these coins, and I suspect silver in general, no one is better or works harder than Jennifer does! And I am grateful to GIM for turning me on to her!

Thanks guys! :girl:  The picture really doesn't do it justice I'm afraid. I don't have mad camera skills like TomD.

I agree that the Pandas and the Lunars are very well done. When I saw Ho's 10 oz Dragons, it was like "wow." They weigh about 3/4 of a pound!

I'm glad you liked the Silver Sampler and the World Sampler, Anty Ep. I figure they are good to get someone's feet wet in silver, an inexpensive way to try my service out, or an affordable, unique present. Also, you find out which coins you like best.

I'm nuts about the Lunars, they are the most beautiful silver coin set out there anywhere.

Yes they are, and the bigger ones goes, the more the detail truly stands out.

Most of my silver is bullion - but its nice to have a little that a lot more fun to look at! And the 10 oz is like having a 10 bar but a heck of alot prettier! If you can do one - go thru Jennifer!

No, I don't - I don't actually take pics of coins........wish I had one to show you.........but the 10 oz is about 3 inches across (I didn't measure, so rough estimate) and truly gorgeous.........

Ok, I just measured - its EXACTLY 3 inches across!!!

I'm buying 4 10 oz Lunars from her: Dragon, Snake, Goat and Rooster. I've already got a 10 oz Dog. What a treat!

I don't know where she scared them up, there was a total of one available on Apmex and one on Ebay.

It would almost be a shame if silver ballooned and prevented us from being able to get the last three coins of the lunar series... Almost!

Beautiful coins. I recently treated myself and bought seven of the nine one ounce lunars currently available. My favorite shop didn't have the dragons or horses that day.

Don't give away my 2 sets!

My money orders were dropped in the post box last night. They are gifts. If I don't end up keeping one, I'm going to need a third for myself.

Did you put in an order for some 2 oz sets?

I think GIM alone might keep you busy shipping these things out for a while.

Reminder to all: Jennifer's price was better than APMEX by a decent amount. Shop local! (local to GIM, that is.)

Don't worry, I'm not going to give away YOUR lunars! I did in fact order a few of the 2 oz sets but they may take a while to get to me. I have some years currently in 2 oz but not all.

Jen, since you are eyeballing this thread, I was going to ask, are those "world samplers" now on sale limited to one per customer or can we bag a bunch?

Since it's December (and I'm trying to sell these off to make room for 2007), you could have a few. Shoot me an email with how many you want and I'll set them aside for you.

Thanks,
Jennifer

I gave out six or seven various 1/2 oz and 1 oz silver lunars for Christmas (according to recipients birth year of course), and the response was lukewarm at best. Except for my Dad and Stepmother who got a kick out of them! Daddy hit the jackpot as they only had the two ounce silver dragon at the coin shop on Christmas Eve eve!

To respond to questions I am getting, the 1 oz Lunars are sold out in gold only, and only for the Dragon, Snake and Horse. There are plenty of silver lunars available in all sizes. The gold Dragons, Snakes, and Horses are available on the resale market, just not from the Perth Mint. I have some connections to get them
